A quick post to remind everyone that Mary Berry is on Who Do You Think You Are? this week. Some of the research took place in our very own searchroom, and Mary visited the Record Office whilst learning about her family history. The programme will concentrate on two of Mary’s ancestors, Robert Houghton a baker and Christopher Berry, a printer.

The programme will air on BBC 1 on Thursday, 11 September at 9 pm.

We will be holding an event to tie in with the broadcast on Thursday, 25 September, at 4.30 pm, which will include talks by Joanne Penn and Gill Blanchard who carried out some of the research. More details to follow…
